PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF DIVORCE

Divorce ranks just above death in severity of stress. Some of the stressors include the chronic marital conflict, the devastation of infidelity, financial problems, children that are affected, unresolved grief, parenting challenges, loss of identity and multiple other losses. It is a lifestyle crisis and with that comes a host of emotions such as anger, sadness, grief, and fear. It is crucial to have support through the heightened vulnerability this process brings.

Many times there are already therapeutic issues apparent before the demise of the marriage such as; alcoholism, co dependency, depression, low self esteem, perfectionism, etc that all contribute to the fall of a marriage. It is important to tackle these underlying issues before they become a problem in the next relationship. So counseling is very specific to needs of the divorce and very general when approaching the underlying causes. Carole’s experience with divorced people and 30 years experience dealing with emotional issues general to the whole population make her a sure fit.

DIVORCE PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUP

Carole’s psychotherapy divorce groups provide the safe structure for people to work out the complex issues one goes through. Her group is unique in that no one gives advice or judges others; we simply support everyone as they go through their stages in their own time. We utilize action methods to facilitate the process so learning from the experience prevents repeating the same mistakes. It is a proven fact that people in support groups heal quicker than those that are not this is not a gripe group where people only focus on the negative; our goal is to heal and move on.
